Has it really been 28 weeks already? Man, pregnancy just flies, doesn’t it?
I had my glucose screen on Thursday. It went well. I guess it was a little low at 73 so they said I need to eat every 2-3 hours which is a major DUH but at the same time, I ate a ginormous breakfast before the appointment so I’m not really sure how it was so low? Maybe it was because they made me go up and down the stairs about 6 times that day between the Dr’s exam room and the lab, jeez. This week I’ve started to feel a little less sore all the time which is REALLY nice. I’m still sleeping really well at night without the unisom & b6. I still have to pop a Zofran every morning thanks to the morning sickness from this little girl but I’m pretty sure it all will be well worth it once she gets here.
Just some differences between my boy & girl pregnancies, I’ll list the stuff I have experienced this time around that didn’t happen with the boys:
- Seriously Dry Skin
- Acne
- Morning Sickness the ENTIRE pregnancy
- Soreness
- Low Glucose Screen
- Getting to wear my normal jeans for a LOT longer!
I realized after I snapped my 27 week photo that I was wearing the same outfit the day I found out I was pregnant back in April so I did a comparison! Pretty cool, right? I love being able to see the change, it’s a neat thing.
And I love that Travis snuck into this photo! Reminds me of when Enoch did the same thing for my 36 weeks photo with Travis!!! You can see that photo HERE.
The boys are extremely excited. The bigger I get, the more excited they get. Whenever Enoch says the prayer whether it be for dinner, morning, family, any prayer of the day that he’s asked to say, it never fails, he says, “And please bless Mom that she will feel better so we can have a baby sister”. Seriously melts my heart every single time. Travis has finally shown interest in this little girl too! The other night I pulled my shirt up so he could see my stomach but I didn’t say anything to him and the baby started doing flips and stuff that you could SEE and Travis noticed this and just freaked out. In this high pitched voice he starts asking me, “Was that the baby? What IS she DOING in there?!”. So every now and again he’ll come to me and put his hands on my stomach and tell me, “I want to feel the baby.” Every now and then he’ll get a kick from her. Its super sweet.
This was my 28 week appt day. The doc said she’s already head down which is great, her heart rate sounds wonderful and I’m measuring exactly on time so far. Joe told me the other day that he probably won’t be able to do anything once she gets here because all he’ll want to do is cuddle her ALL the time. So sweet. I think he’s excited for a little girl. He adores his little boys and enjoys the rough and tumbleness of boys but I think every Dad deserves a little girl. I’m getting more used to the idea and excited myself. I buy at least one girl thing every time I’m at the store just because its too hard not to. We were shopping for my sister in law’s baby shower the other day and she’s having a little boy –
Enoch asked “Why aren’t we looking at the pink stuff? Isn’t this boy stuff? “
Me – “Yes, its boy stuff. We’re getting something for your new baby boy cousin who’s going to be here soon.”
Enoch – “Oh, well can’t we get something pink for sister too? I mean, we’re in the baby stuff already Mom.”
I think the boys want to buy more stuff than I do for her! Sweet guys, she’s really going to be spoiled.
This has been an eventful year already and is just proving to be even more so as we draw closer to the end of it. I have been called as the Second Counselor in the Primary Presidency. Can I say how excited I am to be back in Primary? Its been my favorite calling thus far in life. I just love all those kids and their sweet, strong spirits. Teaching the next generation is some pretty hefty stuff but its just so much fun when you love them!! I’m so grateful to be serving with all of the wonderful teachers and music ladies in Primary and I’m so blessed to be serving with the new President Sally, and the First Counselor Stacy. This will be my second time serving with Stacy IN Primary. I’m just in love!!
I will have to do another post for all the family happenings lately. Until then, TTFN!
