I would like to introduce...

This is Rhino. I've been wanting to make this post for a while but kept forgetting to take a picture of the little guy. Its no fun without a visual aid!

Rhino joined our family on August 15, of 2009. He is a Roborovski Hamster.
Or a Dwarf Hamster.
This little guy was a bribe for Enoch. If he stopped having accidents, he could get a REAL hamster.
He is an awesome pet, although his cage gets a little smelly after a week. Its easy to clean though so I really don't mind. I actually had one of these guys when I was 17 so I guess you could say I'm a little bit of a pro at taking care of them.
The only thing we find annoying about Rhino is the noise his wheel makes when he runs at night. Its not the usual SQUEEK SQUEEK, its more of a rattling of plastic. Drives Joe nuts. I've learned to tune it out.

The nice thing about these little guys, this is as big as they will get. He fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. They are cute! Enoch and Travis love him. We have to watch Travis around Rhino when he's in his running ball, Trav likes to set him free....

I'm doing my make-up in the bedroom the other day and hear a giggle...I turn around to find this...



A few minutes later, I hear, "Boo!!" and was so delightfully scared by this!

More fun conversations with Enoch, they just keep coming!

Story #1:
I'm sitting on the couch watching something on tv and Enoch runs up, and jumps onto the couch next to me. He's silent for a little while and then turns to me:
E- Mom, you're a girl right?
M- Yes, I'm a girl.
E- Mom, girls don't fart, do they?
M- Nope son, you're right, girls don't fart.

HAHA!

Story #2:
I'm in the kitchen peeling a cutie for Enoch's lunch and he's standing next to me.
E- Mom, can we get a baby elephant? A real one?
M- Enoch, I don't think we have enough room in the house for a real baby elephant. They're kind of big.
E- Its ok Mom, we can throw away all the tables in the house and then we'll have enough room for the baby elephant.

Two of my friends had babies in January, one boy and one girl. How fun! Tiny babies are just beautiful and I love it when I get to photograph them.

This is just a hobby, nothing more. Both afternoons were a blast and very HOT! I cranked the heat up to 90 in our house to keep those cute babes toasty and comfortable.

It was a lot of fun and I’m grateful that I had to the opportunity to do this.

Enoch

The other day I was sitting on the couch watching tv with Enoch and a cute puppy appeared in a commercial. Our conversation continued like so...

Enoch - Mom, I want a real puppy dog.

Me - Well Enoch, your Dad is allergic to dogs so I really don't think we'll be able to get a real puppy.

Enoch - Thats ok Mom, Dad can just go to work all the time so I can have a real puppy and then he won't get sick!

I just love how his little mind works... :D
