The boys spent the weekend with my Mom a few weeks ago. They seriously get so spoiled when they go over there. What are Grandmom’s for!?

They went to this awesome splash park which is over by where my Mom lives. They had so much fun – they went twice in one day!

What a fun day! I know my boys love going to see Grandmom & Grandpa and I know Joe & I definitely enjoy some quiet time every now and then. So thanks Mom!

life bums you out sometimes

July 2012 089

Our sweet and awesome friends, the Hortons, moved away a few weeks ago. I guess that’s what you get when you make friends with a dental student family who kicks butt at school and then gets an amazing job somewhere far, far away. Just kidding, they’re like 5 hours away which isn’t too terribly far and will warrant MANY, many trips out that way pretty soon!! Enoch is excited because Rocky wants to buy cows and a horse and stuff. It will be Enoch’s dream come true, a FARM, he tells me.

That’s life sometimes though, isn’t it? You meet some great people, you’d do anything for them and they’d do the same for more if not more and then… they move. Hmphf. Its okay. If all the great people stayed around us, we’d be spoiled and everyone else would just get jealous because we were hogging all the awesome people. ; )

These photos are of Enoch and I with their little girl Tayler. She has seriously made me A-OKAY with having a girl. She’s just a sweet little thing and hardly fusses. AND she can handle her rough and tumble brothers which is just awesome. Enoch and Travis just loved her, just as much as they love her big brothers!

July 2012 090

That TONGUE! Oh, she’s so cute!

August-September 2012 062

Here are the boys, hanging out, the last day that the Hortons were here. They were packing up the final stuff from their home.

From left to right: Konner, Travis, Hunter, & Enoch.

These boys know how to play rough but they are SO awesome with each other. They fish together, “hunt” together, get all dirty together, watch super heroes together, camp together… they made so many memories together that it made their leaving sting a little bit more. We love you guys, and we’ll miss you between visits pretty severely. You’re a one of a kind family and we’re blessed to have had a few years with you so close by.

Thanks for the memories and here’s to MANY more!

first grader

August-September 2012 013

My little sweet, adorably handsome Enoch is a First Grader! Can you believe it!

He was SO excited to start school this year, just like last year. He really loves his school. He has so many friends and he seems to leave an impression on a lot of the staff there. His favorite teacher this year is Ms. L, he informed me of all the teachers that got married over the summer so they have new names now, he still loves art & music class the most, he’s doing great in math still (yay!), he’s doing okay with reading, he’s not AMAZING at it but he’s doing much better this year than last year. He’s already come home with quite a few 100%’s from Riggs (their writing program), which gives him a big smile and he’s only had one yellow day. The funny thing about the yellow day – the day before he got the yellow, he kept telling me he was worried. Worried about what Enoch? “I’m worried that I’m going to get a yellow tomorrow Mom.”. And that was the end of the conversation. It bothers him to get anything but greens so he makes a great effort to be good in class. He got the yellow for talking while a teacher was talking, oops. He’s just social. Stay focused Enoch! He’s a great kid and I’m so grateful that he loves school. What a blessing! Love ya Enoch! I know you’ll have an awesome year in first grade!

24 Weeks

I think I’m digging the progression photos! I wasn’t sure if I liked them at first but now that there’s actually a difference between the photos, its pretty fun! These will definitely be going into the baby book!

21 weeks22 weeks23 weeks24 weeks

24 weeks and still dealing with nausea. I actually tossed my cookies this morning which I wasn’t very impressed with at all. Luckily, it was just water. Oi.

My 24 week appointment was kind of a snoozer. I did get a shot which wasn’t very much fun but my nurse was a ROCKSTAR and that helped a lot. It was the DTAP or TDAP shot. Whichever one is for Pertussis and Tetanus. Now my baby will be safely protected from whooping cough which has been going around lately I suppose. My arm is still sore from the tetanus and I received the shot on Monday. Ouch. Its not SUPER painful, just enough to be annoying when I move it. And yes, I have kept it moving. I don’t want it to stay any longer than it needs to, trust me.

I’m measuring on time, looking great on size and everything. I got to hear the heartbeat again, that never gets old. It was funny though, she was kicking the whole time my Dr was looking for the heart beat but we couldn’t find her. Then my Dr said she was probably behind the placenta so she pushed a little harder and there she was, heart beating away! Funny little a girl, a little shy it seems.

Joe FINALLY started to feel her move. I thought he never would! It was mainly because she’d stop moving as soon as his hand would touch my tummy. Enoch felt her move first, you got to hear about that from my previous post. Travis has yet to feel her and really doesn’t want to. I asked him the other day to feel her and I gently put his hand on my tummy and he started yelling, “NO! I don’t WANT to touch her!”. He’s so pleasant. ;D

I believe we’ve finally found a name. It’s the only name that all four of us like. Enoch has already shared it with his teacher at school. He’s not so great at keeping secrets… at all. Sorry, you’ll just have to find out her name when she arrives. Like I said when I was pregnant with Travis, I learned never to share baby names with people again. Haha. Once you’ve named them, people have no choice but to be polite. So there. ;D I will say, it’s a feminine, romantic, girly name and we love it. And there were only 39 recorded last year so that’s great!  :D

The boys have done some shopping for their sister. I think that really helped Travis come to terms with the fact that he’s getting a little sister and he’s really okay with it now.

August-September 2012 001

The boys picked these out. They were pretty impressed with themselves.

I brought these home the day of the ultrasound so I could show the family instead of tell. The boys had gone to the butterfly pavilion that day with their Tutu so they all were surprised when I got home.

September 2012 007

I actually won these from reading a blog!! SO CUTE.

20 to 24 weeks CLOTHED. Haha.

August-September 2012 059

This has been a fun pregnancy but also demanding. I really can’t believe I’m 24 weeks already. Both my boys were born at or around 36 weeks and for this baby, 36 week is around December 13th. I’m really hoping to go farther than that this time around! Fingers crossed!

Just documenting

Enoch just felt Baby kick for the first time. I've tried so hard this pregnancy to have the boys feel her kick but whenever anyone's hand is on my tummy except my own, she doesn't move! It's almost like she's shy or something.

So here I am, sitting on the living room couch, watching Dirty Jobs Down Under, and Travis falls asleep on me. For some reason, Baby always kicks a lot when Travis falls asleep on me. So I tell Enoch he needs to come over and feel. Sure enough, he puts his hand on the side of my tummy and 3 seconds later -
Kick! She totally kicked his hand, and kicked it good too! His eyes got so big and his mouth popped open all surprised and excited! It was a such a sweet sight, I just had to document it for the memory books!
