So I updated every 2 weeks with Travis on this blog but I think I'll just update after every prenatal visit this time around. To answer your question, yes! I'm lazy.
I had my 11 week check up on Friday. It was supposed to be my 12 week visit next week but the Dr was out of town next week and Kaiser really wants you to meet your Dr on the second visit so we made it an 11 week visit.
I gained 2 lbs since my last visit on May 22nd, woohoo! I like my Dr. She's young and a year out of residency but she came highly recommended by everyone I spoke to so I'm pretty excited. One thing about Kaiser, they are super thorough. They are all about preventative care. I think that's pretty cool. They've been phenomenal with Enoch and his issues thus far so I'm pretty excited to be having a baby with them.
I took the boys with me on this visit because they said we would be listening to the heart beat and I remember that being a pretty cool thing for Enoch when I was pregnant with Travis. So the Dr tried to find the heart beat and couldn't. She said sometimes they like to hide. Instead of leaving us hanging and making me stress about the possibilities of no heart beat, she wheeled in the ultrasound machine and my boys got to SEE their new sibling. That made them pretty happy. It's amazing the journey a baby makes in a few short weeks! This baby looked like a bean four weeks ago and now looks like a miniature baby! Amazing! All looks great!
A bonus to this visit: we scheduled my 20 week ultrasound. August 20th is the day! Don't worry, we'll share the news. ; ) It seems so soon to me! Joe is taking the day off so he can wrangle the boys during the appointment and we can be there as a family. I'm very excited. : )
My Zofran works really well on some days and other days, not so much. This baby has really run me down with all the nausea. I've been trying the B6 three times a day as well and as long as I eat something before I take the B6, it really helps a lot. If my stomach is a little too empty, I'm in bed for the remainder of the day. I'm hoping the second trimester brings some relief. It would be nice to function slightly normal so I can get some laundry done. : )
