Enoch asked to be a Woolly Mammoth this year. This was quite the task because they don’t sell Woolly Mammoth costumes. And there really isn’t anything online to help you make one.
So…I asked SEVERAL creative people for ideas and what I could do. Thanks to them, Joe & I came up with this. Its yarn, in bunches, sewn to a sweat suit. The tusks are apart of the head piece and those are made out of ceiling grid wire and pipe insulators. The ears are just cardboard with yarn glued to them. The trunk is a cat tail that we put thicker wire in so it would hold its shape with yarn sewn to it as well.
Enoch adored it and that's all I could have asked for in the end. We did go to Boo at the Zoo and the response to his costume was awesome! Everyone knew exactly what he was and he loved it!
I asked Enoch to make a Mammoth face and this is what I got. :D
We’ve dubbed this the “Travis” face. He’s so grouchy.
Notice the leaves and pine needles that stuck to Enoch’s pants??
Boo!
This was Enoch’s Boo at the Zoo costume. It was 73 degrees and I didn’t want him to roast in his yarn shirt!

That woolly mammoth costume is amazing. I can't believe how creative you were in pulling it all together! You do realize that now you have set a standard that you will have to live up to from now on though. Awesome job! I loved making costumes, I miss those days.
Way to go! That's awesome!
Hey Nat, Your boys are so cute! You did an awesome job on the costumes...so very creative! I'm also slightly amused to find out that there is a tail-less cat walking around somewhere. I hope you got a picture of that too! I'm sure he's cotent that his tail went to such a great costume. Miss you guys! Miss you guys! Give our love to Joe and all the rest of your family!
Enoch's costume was awesome! Great job and I love Trav's facial expressions, they are both so cute :)
