The Day of Surgery – March 30th, 2012.
Enoch is out of surgery and doing great! He woke up fairly quickly after and was ready for his orange slushy. Dr Handler said everything went great and Enoch did very well. They even pulled his loose tooth for him so he wouldn't swallow it during surgery.
I did a lot better than I expected when we gave him hugs and kisses in the OR. It is a little difficult to see your little guy fall asleep because of anesthesia but I held it together! Joe is an awesome emotional support, he's my rock. : )
We were moved upstairs to his room pretty quickly which was nice. I remember some of his other surgeries, we had to wait in recovery for a long time! This time wasn't bad at all. Children's hospital is fantastic, the doctors, nurses and staff are just amazing. They truly understand kids. Enoch has a tv and Xbox in his room and there's a little place downstairs where we can "rent" games and movies. They have a library here too.
Enoch was a little sleepy when we first got to his room but he's doing great now. He had some Jello and a drink and he's playing video games now.
He has to lay flat for 24 hours, tomorrow they want him up and walking around and then we should be discharged on Sunday.
He's doing really well. He's such a little trooper. We've been so blessed throughout this entire process. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers! We love you all!!!
