Enoch’s Teeth - 01/16/14

January to February 10 2014 332
Enoch & his teeth. First of all, Enoch and the dentist do not mix. They never have, and I’m pretty sure they never will. After having 4 surgeries, you would think he was the bravest kid in the world. And in a way, he is, when he’s put under. Enoch deals with a TON of anxiety when it comes to having anything worked on now and I can’t say that I blame him. His short life here on this earth has been a rough one to say the least. He comes out on the other side with flying colors every time though.
There is a HUGE story behind all of this but honestly, I don’t feel like typing it all. To make a long story short, Enoch gets anxious at the dentist and for some reason, gas makes him worse. After seeing four different dentists, we found Dr Lewis. She is AMAZING. If you live in the Aurora area, you must go to her with your children. I love her. They gave Enoch some anti-anxiety meds to take an hour before each visit, because he needed an extraction, and then a space maintainer installed. They were SO good and patient with him. It was awesome.
He’s had three visits with Dr Lewis now, the first was for his extraction, second was for the space maintainer, and the third was for his very first cleaning. After all the visits he has had with Dentists, he’s never had a cleaning. His cleaning went so well though, he has now told me that he enjoys going to the visit. And at his cleaning, he had NO cavities. Which was SO awesome to hear. He’s doing really well!

This was the same day as the extraction. He did really well and Dr Lewis was awesome. She had to be firm with him towards the end but they got it done and it just worked out so well.

A month after his extraction – this is his space maintainer. He really likes it and its very comfortable for him. It will be removed when his molars start popping in.
All in all, its been a wonderful experience. After 4 years of back and forth and getting nothing done, dentist after dentist, he’s finally in a good place and enjoys the dentist. YAY!

Now if Rocky would just move back to Aurora, we would be set. : )
