camping august 2011

We got to go camping! YES!! Its been a while since we’ve been camping and I don’t think I’ve actually done mountain camping with Joe before so this was a first. We’ve camped at Lake Powell on the beach but we camped right beside a house boat with a bathroom, stove, sink, tv, etc. All the goodies from home I guess you could say. I think the area we camped was Rock Creek? It was near Jefferson, about 16 miles from Fairplay. It was SO much fun. I personally had a blast. We went with our friends The Hortons. Their little boys are just so cute and so much fun. Once we got home I asked Enoch was his favorite part about camping was. His response, “Konner. He’s really cool and he’s my best friend.”. It was so cute! I think my favorite part was seeing how dirty the boys could get and not being overly concerned with it. Its nice to just let them be boys for once. I’m sure if you were to ask Joe what his favorite part of camping was, it would be fishing. And most likely his conversations with Rocky. We all had a really good time. I’m glad we went, I’m glad we were able to go, and I’m hoping we can make it a yearly thing. Everyone needs a jaunt out into the wild every now and then. It was very relaxing and just super enjoyable.

Travis was very interested in touching the fish.

The boys were GREAT helpers and really enjoyed helping cook the fish. Travis & Konner took turns “salting” the fish.

Travis actually tried to eat the onions off the fish. Then he found the rest of the onion and took a couple of bites.

Travis LOVED eating the fish and became Rocky’s buddy for dinner.
