My Boys Have Been Sick!

So, a few weeks ago Enoch was sick but only had a fever. The fever did hit 105 twice but only stayed at that temp for twenty minutes each time. By the third day of having a fever, we finally gave in and went to the Doctor. We had been administering Tylenol which relieved his fever for a few hours and then it just popped right back up. The Doctors couldn't tell us anything (surprise, surprise) because his flu test came back negative. He is up to date on his flu shots, BTW. So, we sat in the Doctor's office for four hours. YES, that's right, four hours. They did the flu test and once that came back negative they sent us to the lab to get a blood test. This was no finger prick people. They had to take it from the vein. Enoch was NOT happy. But he did get a Lightning McQueen sticker once it was all over with so he left the nurses with some blown kisses.
Once they finished the blood test, we went back to our room and they then gave him two shots of antibiotics in case it was a bacterial infection. They sent us home with a scheduled appointment for the next morning.
So the next day, we pay another copay for Enoch's Doctor to tell us that Enoch had the flu but since he had his flu shots, he was stuck with only one symptom. So I was to keep up on the Tylenol if his temp stayed above 101. And the blood work did come back negative for a bacterial infection so the kid wasn't even contagious!

Enoch was over it probably on the 5th or 6th day. Then that weekend, Joe got sick. He has a horrible cough and a sinus infection. JOY. Normally, when Joe gets sick, he's sick for a day or two, and then he's fine. This cold has stuck with him for almost 3 weeks now. YIKES. And he's actually had to take a few days off from work. That's never fun. Plus, it doesn't help that he's working nights 3 or 4 times a week. Not healthy. So, Joe is still not feeling 100%.

Get Well Soon Joe!
