enoch turns 7
Enoch will be 7 years old on Monday. June 17th. AH! I cannot believe I have a 7 year old!
Enoch is an awesome kid, inside and out. He’s had quite the journey through life, he’s up to 4 surgeries now, 5 if you include his tooth being pulled. He considers that surgery because he “bled a little”.
He loves school, he loves his friends, he loves his little brother and sister, and he is still a die hard animal fan. I did his birthday interview the other day and he said he’d like to be a Zookeeper when he grows up. No surprise there.
He really enjoyed playing lacrosse this year but his absolute favorite thing about lacrosse is playing with his Dad.
Enoch is so sweet and kind and is growing into quite the responsible and helpful kid. He’s done so many sweet things to help me with Gwen when Travis needs some extra attention. He’s even wanted to learn how to change her diaper.
He’s lost 7 teeth and is still not a big fan of giving those teeth to the tooth fairy.
Happy Birthday Enoch, we love you so much! Stay cool man.
gwenevere is 6 months
Our beautiful baby girl. I can’t believe she’s 6 months already.
There is so much to love about this little girl. She is always happy and bubbly. She adores her big brothers and loves to be involved with what they’re doing.
She is so excited to be eating food along with the rest of us. She still doesn’t have any teeth but she is sure drooling enough to have grown ten of them.
She and Travis have a bond, even though he can be rough with her a lot of the time, she just adores whenever he comes around. He enjoys making her giggle.
She’s learned to sit up like a pro but she still hates laying on her stomach for tummy time. She refuses to roll over. None of my kids have rolled over. SO odd but hey, whatever works!
And those gorgeous baby blues look like they’re here to stay. Both of her Grandpas have blue eyes and they’re both pretty happy that she’s inherited them.
And those lashes could go for miles. Our beautiful Gwenevere, we love you so and we’re so thrilled that we get to know you more and more every day.
Happy 6 Months baby girl/sweetness/Gwenny/sister.
handsome trav
Have you seen The Italian Job with Mark Wahlberg? Remember that character played by Jason Statham, Handsome Rob?
Not that Travis is anything like that guy because Handsome Rob is not what you would consider moral but I’ve nickname Travis, Handsome Trav. Here’s the proof.
Get ready to have your hearts broken ladies because he will not be an easy catch.
professional face painter in the making
Remember this POST? Here is somewhat of a repeat. Again, this is what happens when you leave two boys and some paint alone on the porch for too long.
Travis was thrilled about it obviously. Enoch isn’t too bad a face painter!
I love Enoch’s concentration here.
Isn’t this how all artists put paint on their brushes?

scariest mom moment... so far.
Being a mom of a child that needs surgery is scary. It's not very comforting when you're sitting in that waiting room, just dying to know how your child is doing, hoping they're coming out to tell you he's done and heading up to recovery. It's scary.
It's also scary when some thing like this happens:
Enoch and Joe had just left for a Mammoth game (indoor lacrosse) with Enoch's teammates and their parents. It was a team thing so Travis, Gwen and I were staying home. Travis was actually in the bathroom when Joe & Enoch left but as soon as he heard that front door close, he was screaming, "I want to go to the game! I don't want to stay home, I want Enoch!". He was truly throwing a royal tantrum. The screaming, the jumping up and down while crying and whining, oh it was a sight to behold. It had been a good ten minutes since Joe & Enoch had left but the tantrum was still going.
I realized he was tired so all my efforts to console and calm down were thwarted so I "let him rave". I sat on the couch in the front room and started feeding Gwen. All of a sudden, Travis gets this determined look on his face and tells me, "I'm going to the game".
"Travis, you can't. Daddy already left. We'll see them in a little while when they get home. Lets watch a show, huh?"
"No, I want Enoch. I'm going to the game."
And with that, he unlocked the front door, swung that huge heavy thing open and bolted out the door.
Here I am, nursing Gwen and shocked. First of all, he's never been able to open the door before. Secondly, I've never seen Travis move so fast in his life!
So I naturally do what any mother would; I jump up and run out the door after him! I'm running down the sidewalk and driveway as quickly as holding the STILL NURSING 3 month old will allow, praying the blanket covering myself will hold on for dear life even though it is just resting on my shoulder and praying that he doesn't reach the street before I get to him.
The blanket doesn't move and I some how manage to catch Travis by the shoulder just in time. And wouldn't you know it? As soon as I stop him, a car speeds by. (It probably wasn't going very fast but I'm all worked up at this point)
I look down; I just saved Travis from sudden death, I somehow managed not to expose myself to the neighborhood and Gwen is still nursing. Unbelievable.
I walk Travis back inside, we have a ridiculously long and tearful talk about never going out the front door without Mom or Dad, staying away from the street and being safe.
Five minutes later, he was asleep and my heart was still racing.
