Okay, so there really aren't anymore "fetus" photos on the internet for being this far along so we'll just suppose this little guy looks like a newborn but a bit smaller. You'll just have to do with my "pregnant bump" photos until he comes. I'm measuring 39" at belly button height (waist line) and have gained 29 pounds thus far.
I've had Braxton-Hicks contractions on an everyday basis but have only had a few contractions that were actually painful. The first one hit me in the parking lot of the Temple a few weeks ago when we were heading home from Youth Baptisms. It wasn't SUPER painful but I did notice the difference. I told Joe about an hour later and he was freaked out a little bit...He's been so concerned and stressed with this pregnancy because he's afraid the baby will come early like Enoch did. I explained to him that it was just one contraction and I hadn't had anymore since so we really didn't have much to worry about. Yeah, that didn't put him at ease...The second one hit me yesterday, it lasted for about ten minutes and I really had to focus on breathing through it.
According to my Pregnancy Journal, the baby now has fully formed toe nails. Pretty cool, eh? He's sensitive to light and his eyelids flutter and twitch if the light is too bright. His fingernails have reached the tips of his fingers. He most likely weighs somewhere around 4 pounds and is 12 inches long.
As far as movement, he's a good mover. He has been head down for a while and I even I asked my Dr to double check and sure enough, she said he's got the right idea. He does however like to poke his little foot out right where my belly button is and that can be pretty uncomfortable at times but for the most part, he is still sleeping at night and letting me sleep. He even "plays" with Joe and Enoch when Joe gets home from work. I think he can "hear" the excitement and gets all wacky in there. Its fun.
Enoch is becoming more and more aware of the situation. If he sees a baby on tv, in a book, or out in public, he'll say, "Mommy, baby! " and then point to my tummy, hug and kiss it and say, "Baby....in there" to it. He can already say his little brother's name. Its SO gosh darn cute!
He also has his own "baby". It is one of his smaller stuffed Elephants and he will wrap "baby el" in blankets and tell me to "ssshh" because of the baby. He's awesome.
We are planning on having the baby blessing the first Sunday of May...if everything turns out the way we're hoping. :D We'll keep you all posted in case you'd like to come.
